Statement of Purpose:
    We all need a purpose.  You can have a thousand missions with only one purpose.  The purpose of this website is simply to say what's on my mind and determine if there is a receptive forum.

Why "The Biting Fly"?
    Nobody likes the lowly biting fly.  They are a painful nuisance with the ability to draw blood through even the thickest skin.  Non-selective, they will bite any creature with a blood supply.  They have no fear of rhinos, squirrels, people, cows, or pretty much anything else.  No matter what the risk, a biting fly must bite to survive.  It's not satisfied just swirling around your head or landing on your potato salad, it must draw blood.  Under no circumstances does it intend to harm its victim.  But at the instant its little proboscis penetrates your skin, you realize you are under attack.  On the rarest of occasions, you will be lucky enough to kill the biting fly on your first swat.  Usually it will escape to bite again and again and again...
    Over the years I've grown tired of listening to the contrived BS we are fed by politicians, corporations, the news media, etc. pushing their agendas.  Let's call them "agendors".  The agendors want some special interest group to feel warm and fuzzy while they get what they want no matter the collateral damage left in their wake.   Money and power have blinded them.  I think it's about time I had a chance to say what I think is right.  I'm not talking anarchy, just common sense.  I believe we can all get along and live healthy, happy, prosperous lives without standing on each other's throat.

What are you, communist?
    I'm not sure what I am anymore, but I'm definitely not communist!  I could be a middle of the road conservative or a right wing democrat, however I might sway toward Independent or Libertarian.  Maybe even Green.  I'm definitely not a radical anything.  More than likely, I'm just like you...an opinionated horse's ass.  The difference between the agendors and I is that I try to apply logic.  When you do that, you soon find out that what you want isn't always a good idea.

How did you come up with this crap?
    It's a natural byproduct of all the garbage I'm fed on a daily basis.

What's your ultimate goal?
    It would certainly be nice if more people could grasp the concept of "enough".  The biggest problems seem to be money and power.  Or perhaps the "I-know-better-than-you-so-do-as-I-say" mindset.  Contrary to what you might think, I'm not in that category.  I try to base my opinions on the principles of right and wrong as I have learned them over the last umpteen dozen years.  That being said, I'll offer my opinion and you can judge if it holds water.  You're not required to agree, but it would be nice if you retained your civility in any response you fling my way.

You are a Hypocrite!
    Who isn't?  On occasion I'll stray from the path and kick someone's teeth in, but more than likely I'll apologize afterward.  We are all susceptible to that "power" thing.
