Money, Money, Money...It's a rich mans world

I watched some of the Democratic debate tonight.  Of course I had to constantly adjust the horizontal control as the picture on the TV kept moving to the left.  It was obvious to me that these folks don’t actually believe what they were saying.  It’s also obvious that the people of America have gotten used to the idea that we have to vote for the lesser of the evils.  I personally don’t believe there will be a candidate running in any party that will be worthy of what the presidency truly stands for.

Our president has become a symbol of the division in our country.  Right or left.  People vote against a candidate nowadays, they don’t vote FOR one.  You choose your candidate based on who will do least amount of damage to your way of life.  I’m not trying to be cynical; I’m just telling the truth.  The following is my take on some of the “Issues” candidates discussed.

Universal health care:  Health care is not a “dress code”.  Mandating health care doesn’t make it affordable.  Stopping frivolous lawsuits is a good step in stabilizing health care costs.  Eliminating lobbyist would be a very positive step reducing health care costs.

Gun control:  We don’t need gun control, we need idiot control.  Mandate MENTAL health care.  Look at the Virginia Tech Massacre, for example.  People knew that kid was very disturbed, but they didn’t do anything about it because they didn’t want to get sued.  Forcing someone to undergo mental health treatment is a violation of their civil rights.  Interesting isn’t it?  We can quarantine a TB patient until they are no longer a threat (which I think is an excellent idea) but we can’t quarantine a mentally deranged individual until after they kill people.

The War:  Who in their right mind wants to have a war?  If we leave, that place will be chaotic for the next century.  If we stay, that place will be chaotic for the next century.  I don’t think there is a good answer here.  Too bad the United Nations is as useless as tits on a boar hog.

Immigration:  Put the burden of supporting illegal immigrants on the companies that hire them.

But, you know the real problem is money.  Nobody has enough money.  Why?  It’s because the American dream is having enough money to get what we need.  And we all need more than the next guy, right?  “Yes we need money, yes we need money.  Yes we need money.  The TV tells me so.”  That’s how we know who is important...they have a lot of money.  I work with a guy that will break his fool neck trying to buddy up with you if he thinks you are a “BIG MONEY MAN”.  I wish he could meet a presidential candidate.  If he could, then mandatory mental health care would get some attention.
