Diversity Training Completed

Diversity training came off without a hitch.  Far, Far better than the first go round.  This time we didn't focus on any particular "group" like in the training class I attended several years ago.  This seemed to be more of an aerial view.  We simply discussed some of the issues that many ethnicities, races and genders must endure.
The biggest problem with these training classes is that everyone has been hammered with political correctness so much, they are afraid to speak up.  Well, almost everyone.  I hate sitting in a class with an instructor asking for participation and nobody speaks up.  So I pointed out that without us white males, they wouldn't even have these classes, since we are solely responsible for all the evil in the world.  All I got back were a lot of blank stares.  The way I figure it, the politically correct group thinks we not only do evil, we force other groups to do evil because of our ways.  See, that way, nobody except white males are responsible for the bad stuff that goes on in the world.  So be it.  "I yam what I yam and that's all that I yam."
Speaking of diversity, this has nothing to do with it.  Due to the underwhelming response from my past entries citing the books on my reading lists, I've decided to simply tell you what I've been reading this winter, provide a one sentence review and let it go at that.  So here you go...

The Civil War Volume I by Shelby Foote:  Reading this was somewhere on the pain scale between getting a finger torn off your hand and actually fighting in the Civil War, but inexplicably I am now starting Volume II.

Libertarianism by David Boaz:  This book confirmed my belief that we need 90% less federal government.

At the Center of the Storm by George Tenet:  If you are ever stuck on a sinking ship with Dick Cheney, Scooter Libby and only one life vest, do the country a favor...save yourself.

A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson:  An estimated 3.2 laughs per page.

In a Sunburned Country by Bill Bryson:  Bill Bryson in Australia can only result in laughter and education, thus proving our grade school teachers wrong.

Why Business People Speak Like Idiots by Brian Fugere, Chelsea Hardaway and Jon Warshawsky:  Business people speak like idiots simply because they are idiots.

The Politically Incorrect Guide to the Constitution by Kevin R. C. Gutzman:  This was so much like a textbook, I was expecting a quiz.

North Toward Home by Willie Morris:  The autobiographical tale of a young Mississippi man that grew up about 30 miles from my home and has a way with language that eclipses William F. Buckley.

That's it for this post.
